Tourist taxes starting soon

New levies we know about, in the order they start. If you're booking now for a stay after the start date, you'll probably pay it.

1. 25 January 2027
   Glasgow, Scotland

   5% of the accommodation price from 25 January 2027, with no limit on nights.

2. 1 April 2027
   Aberdeen, Scotland

   7% of the accommodation price from April 2027, the highest rate in Scotland.

3. 1 April 2027
   Cardiff, Wales

   £1.30 per person per night (75p in hostels and campsites) from 1 April 2027.

4. June 2027
   Stirling, Scotland

   3% of the accommodation price on the first 7 nights, from June 2027.

5. 1 July 2027
   West Dunbartonshire, Scotland

   5% of the accommodation price for stays from 1 July 2027.
